Launching the Implementation Stage

The DLL received official word from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation today that the implementation phase can begin.

In a letter to OU President David Boren, the AWMF confirmed that all of the requirements mentioned in their earlier letter have been satisfied. They also included a check for funds to cover expenses for the first year of the two-year implementation period.

The most important text in the letter: "The grant can now begin."

Mellon Renews Funding

The DLL received official word today that the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has approved a grant of $1,000,000 to the University of Oklahoma "to support development of infrastructure for creation, use, and publication of scholarly editions and original primary sources." 

The letter, addressed to OU President David Boren, states that disbursement of the funds is contingent upon execution of an intellectual property agreement, which will be the next step.
